Thomas Lawrence's portrait of Wilhelmina Bowlby at London Art Week

Our portrait of Wilhelmina Bowlby by Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) is featured in the latest issue of Antiques Trade Gazette, "The red background recalls the Roman wall-paintings at Pompeii, excavations of which were being carried out when the portrait was under way c.1825."
